Hot off the Press: With Tradeprint, a leading player in the e-commerce printing company relies on the commercetools microservice platform

MUNICH (Germany) / LONDON (UK), June 12, 2018 – Tradeprint have adopted the commercetools API-first approach, and their new website is integrated directly with Cimpress’ Mass Customisation Platform. As a Cimpress company, this connects the printing company to the manufacturing plants of the entire group, allowing to offer their print, marketing and creative professionals a much wider range of products.

On the front end, customers can enjoy an unrivalled user experience that makes print buying easy, fast and hassle-free. Tradeprint has incorporated a simplified navigation so customers can quickly find their product. Stripping back the product configurator makes it clearer and faster to select product options. The result is a website where a returning customer can enter the website, choose their product and checkout in less than a minute.

Tradeprint has also incorporated many new features to benefit their customers. These include a Help Centre to provide an answer to most customer queries instantly, and a range of white label marketing collaterals to help our customers successfully introduce and sell our full product range. Further the functionality to order sets of print, allowing customers to order multiple versions of the same item from one page and within one order, and the checkout process now has the functionality to store payment card details, a popular request from our customers!

The API approach of the commercetools cloud-based e-commerce platform allowed Tradeprint to create a fully customised and unique commerce experience. The scalable technology allows Tradeprint to grow their product range and order volume, and it integrates seamlessly into the existing technology and structure. The website was built in conjunction with enterprise CMS provider Magnolia.

As part of Tradeprints quality assurance testing, the website was rolled out gradually across the UK. These localised tests are now complete, and the new website is live. Access to the previous website will be available for a short time to help customers migrate to the new system.

Tradeprint are the home of trade printing. We worked with our customers to design this new website, and this customer-centric approach puts their needs at the heart of everything we do. The website is just the beginning of our digital transformation. Projects coming to fruition soon include closed portals and print API connections, keeping us at the forefront of print technology.
