Munich (Germany), April 28, 2020 – Flaconi, the largest online pure player in Germany’s beauty industry, has chosen commercetools to develop their new commerce solution. With a cloud-native, microservices-based architecture, the commercetools platform supports Flaconi’s rapid growth plans, including the introduction of new features, shops and business models. In conjunction with commercetools, Frontastic was selected as the frontend solution.
Currently with over 45,000 products from 720 international brands, Flaconi has more than tripled its turnover since 2014. Not surprisingly, its existing system was no longer able to cope with this impressive growth. With an expected annual increase in turnover of up to 50 percent, Flaconi sought a provider that could ensure support for their future growth.
While Flaconi aims to offer its customers a first-class shopping experience across all end devices, no matter how much they expand, they have always required the operation of their shop remain stable and all processes be managed properly. In 2019, Flaconi started to replace their legacy system with commercetools software. commercetools was chosen for a couple reasons. First was because of its lean, adaptable backend that could be easily integrated with the front-end solution from Frontastic. But what really sealed the deal was commercetools’ high scalability and seamless integration into existing architecture, both functionally and technically.
We are delighted to accompany the Flaconi team on its way to becoming the European number one in beauty eCommerce. This requires a powerful, flexible technology. After all, customers in the beauty segment are extraordinarily demanding: they expect not only products tailored to their needs, but also an equally individualized and appealing shopping experience. To be able to offer them exactly that, retailers must be agile and interact with customers across all channels.
