If your application is selected to move forward, the Talent Acquisition Partner will review the details of these interview stages with you in your initial call.

General topics

Does commercetools offer remote, hybrid, or in-person roles?

Global Heart, Local Smart is how we describe how we work at commercetools.

With Global Heart, Local Smart, we provide the joy of having a flexible work location, giving you the choice of working from home / the office / a combination of both, with the benefits of meaningful in-person interaction and connection.

We do not request or track mandatory in-office attendance but we do encourage in-office attendance for meaningful in-person interactions and connection to help increase our sense of belonging, our collective performance, and overall satisfaction.

While we generally follow our Global Heart, Local Smart workstyle, some roles require in-person attendance. This will be stated clearly in the job description.

What is the best language for me to use in my application?

Although we are a diverse, global company, our primary business language is English. Our employees must be fluent in both written and spoken English. Unless specifically mentioned in the job description, please submit your application in English.

Does commercetools offer support with my visa process?

We do offer visa sponsorship for select countries and positions. Please apply to the position you are interested in and a Talent Acquisition Partner will guide you through the visa process if applicable.

Can I work part-time or as a freelancer?

We mostly hire for full-time positions, however, we occasionally have part-time opportunities available. If a position is eligible for part-time employment it will be clearly stated on the job description.

We do not currently hire freelancers for any of our roles.

When can I expect to hear back?

It is our aim to get back to you within a week of submitting your application. However, due to the high volume of applications we receive for many of our roles, that timeline is not always feasible. Rest assured that even if we choose not to move forward with your application, we will notify you either way.

What should I wear for a virtual or face-to-face interview?

We do not have an official dress code and encourage you to dress how you feel most comfortable so you can feel your best during the interview. For sales or customer-facing positions, we ask you to dress as you would for a customer meeting.

Are there assessment/coding tests?

Yes, for most of our technical roles there is a technical assessment as part of the interview process. Your Talent Acquisition Partner will send you further details on what to expect in this stage as technical assessments vary based on the position.

How does the onboarding process work?

We offer a variety of virtual onboarding sessions hosted by the leaders of our organization to give you a well-rounded picture of our past, present and future. In addition, every quarter we host an in-person onboarding session in either our Munich, or Berlin offices*. This is a great opportunity for you to explore one of our global or local offices and meet fellow new commercetoolers!

*Travel and lodging for the onboarding session (if applicable) will be provided by the company.
