Environmental sustainability: A clearer path forward
Reaffirming our dedication to sustainability requires continuous action. In 2024, we took concrete steps to reduce our environmental footprint, including offsetting 16.32% of our carbon emissions as part of our net-zero commitment by 2039. Additionally, our partnership with Everwave resulted in the removal of over 12 tons of waste from waterways — equivalent to more than 80% of the business waste we generate.
Many of our employees also played an active role in conservation efforts through our Eco-Champions 2024 initiative, driving impactful environmental projects in their communities.
Empowering people: Fostering a culture of belonging
At commercetools, we don’t just talk about inclusivity — we take action. We launched ctDiversify, a multi-year program aimed at diversifying our talent pipeline and workforce. Furthermore, we introduced HERizon, our women’s leadership program and kicked off Women in Tech Night Out, a networking series designed to foster connections and opportunities for women in the technology industry.
Moreover, we have established five thriving employee resource groups (ERGs) to ensure every voice is heard and valued. These initiatives not only support our employees but are also meant to extend impact beyond our company, influencing the wider industry to embrace inclusivity.
Driving accountability: Making progress measurable
Accountability is key to meaningful progress. That’s why we partnered with organizations like the MACH Alliance to make DEIB efforts measurable and transparent. Our new DEIB scoring tool empowers businesses to take actionable steps toward greater inclusivity, reinforcing our belief that progress should be accessible to all — ensuring no one is left behind.
