commercetools announces global eCommerce rollout with consumer electrical goods firm Glen Dimplex
Owner of famous home brands like Roberts Radio and Faber uses commercetools to optimise eCommerce potential in Europe, US and Australasia
MUNICH (Germany) / DUBLIN (Ireland), February 11, 2020 – commercetools, a global leader in next-generation commerce software, today announced a partnership with Glen Dimplex Group, the consumer home appliances leader. Glen Dimplex will be using the commercetools commerce platform to support the global eCommerce rollout for its brands.

One of the reasons Glen Dimplex chose commercetools was its microservices architecture. This means the group can take a step-by-step approach to eCommerce development, releasing non-transactional product catalogues first and then adding transactional capabilities later. It can then test and rollout improvements in controlled stages to ensure it can maximise sales.
commercetools’ platform allows Glen Dimplex to take ‘a white-label approach’ to eCommerce development and deployment, meaning it can build once and redeploy over and over again.
Using commercetools’ true cloud, headless and API-first commerce platform, Glen Dimplex has already released its first multi-language, multi-region site, for faberfires.com. The company plans to launch a new commerce site for its Roberts Radio brand this year, and has 30 more sites in the pipeline which will launch on a brand-by-brand basis.
commercetools’ platform also enables continuous improvement. Any improvements it makes to the core will be immediately available to all its brand sites.
By using commercetools and Acquia Site Factory, Glen Dimplex aims to enhance customer journeys by trialling improvements such as adding new features to test their impact on user experience and sales, establish a stronger brand presence and improve consistency of brand messaging globally and across all its core markets.
