Volunteering with a purpose at commercetools

Today, it’s easy to succumb to a sense of helplessness. With global warming, market volatility and a myriad of social issues, this feeling transcends geographical boundaries and professional spheres, affecting us all. However, there exists a potent and accessible means for every individual to contribute to a brighter world: Volunteering!

At commercetools, we believe that volunteering represents more than a selfless act; it embodies a formidable force for positive change on a global scale. This is why we offer paid time off to our employees! It’s important for us that we’re helping to facilitate positive change in the communities we operate in by empowering commercetoolers to engage meaningfully with causes that resonate.

Recently, a group of commercetoolers had the privilege to participate in a volunteering event with Die Arche in Berlin and Munich, Germany. Die Arche is an organization devoted to combating poverty in Germany by offering practical, emotional and relational support to children in its after-school programs. This includes providing nourishing meals, aiding with schoolwork and facilitating various recreational activities like sports and music. Above all, Die Arche instills confidence and self-worth in young individuals through encouragement and affirmation.

Hear it from the volunteers

"Volunteering at Die Arche is where my heart finds purpose and my actions bring about a meaningful difference. Each moment spent with these incredible children reminds me that compassion knows no bounds and that the power of love can truly transform lives. Together, we are building a brighter future — one smile, one hug and one act of kindness at a time."

— Adina Lütge, Head of Documentation, commercetools

“Volunteering was always a huge part of my life and a great way to connect with the community you live in through the positive influence you create. Die Arche is a perfect platform through which you can contribute since it influences the key aspect of every society — children! I loved the fact that we were able to create a wonderful day for the kids, bring smiles to their faces and support Die Arche’s cause!”

— Arif Jaganjac, Talent Acquisition Partner GTM, commercetools

“At some point in our lives, we have encountered individuals who have provided us with assistance. Volunteering is a way of reciprocating by devoting our time, energy and skills to those in need. The Die Arche event was a well-organized occasion and it was invigorating to experience the positive energy there.”

— Karolina Karolczak, Learning & Development Project Manager, commercetools
